Memorandum of Understanding between the committee of youth, sports and tourism of the Republic of Tajikistan and the General Authority of Youth and sports welfare of the United Arab Emirates for Cooperation in the field of sports

The Committee of Youth, Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Tajikistan and the General Authority of Youth and Sports Welfare of the United Arab Emirates, hereinafter referred to as the Parties,

from their keenness on strengthening the ties of friendship between the two nations. In order to develop sports cooperation between the two countries to achieve greater mutual benefits and interests and to ensure the advancement of the sports movement to the desired levels,

the Parties agree as follows:

Article 1

The Parties will encourage cooperation between their countries in the field of sports by way of:

  1. Coordinating attitudes in international and regional conferences and events.
  2. Exchanging visits for sports officials in order to share experience and knowledge.
  3. Exchanging programs among sports-related organizations, associations and federations.
  4. Encouraging cooperation between the Parties for developing sports staff.
  5. Exchanging invitations to regional and international conferences and seminars in both countries.
  6. Encouraging exchange of visits for sports delegations and teams and cooperate to facilitate training camps in both countries.

Article 2

The Parties promote technical cooperation between national sports organizations and federations in the following fields:

  1. Exchange experience in the field of disabled people sports through physical culture and sports appropriate for them.
  2. Exchange experience in the field of sports medicine.
  3. Exchange experience and new technologies in the area of sports facilities and centers.
  4. Coordinate and exchange experience in anti-doping and detection.
  5. Exchange experience and implement joint programs in order to create awareness of the importance of women sports and how to improve the same.
  6. Exchange experience in competitions and games relating to the concept “sports for everybody”.

Article 3

Exchanging visits for officials and sports delegations will be made as follows:

1.Exchanges between the Sport Federations of the two countries will be realized according to the submitted invitations, provided that every party shall bear its respective expenses of travel, accommodation and subsistence in the hosting country that will make the necessary arrangements.

2.The visits of sport teams will be made according to the financial conditions to be agreed upon between the relevant federations and clubs.

Article 4

Each Party to this Memorandum of Understanding will assign a coordinator to follow up and implement the provisions of this Memorandum, to propose and develop new plans and programs in order to activate this Memorandum.

Article 5

Performance of this Memorandum of Understanding shall not affect other agreements and memorandums between the Parties or those to be signed between either Party and a third party.

Article 6

Any dispute arising from the performance of this Memorandum shall be resolved by negotiations and consultations.

Article 7

This Memorandum of Understanding is a general framework for cooperation between the two countries in sports.  No Party shall have any financial obligations as a result of singing of this Memorandum of Understanding.

Article 8

Amendments and additions to this Memorandum may be proposed by mutual agreement between the Parties and prepared for in separate protocols and shall constitute an integral part of this Memorandum.

Article 9

This Memorandum of Understanding shall come into force and effect from the date of its signing and remain valid for 5 years and shall be automatically renewed for similar periods, unless either party gives notice through diplomatic channels of its wish to terminate it.  Termination shall take effect six months after the date of such notice.

Done at Dubai on 17/3/2016, in two original copies each in Tajik, Arabic and English languages, all texts are being equally authentic. In case of any divergence in interpretation, the English text shall prevail.
